Description
Amidst the rebellion, Roxana get to know DORIAN MACGRAY, a CIA agent, who was the mistress of political revolutionary Ayatollah Beheshti who was supposed to take over from the Khomeini. Roxana learned Dorian orchestrated and lead the plans to remove The Shah of Iran and replace him with Ayatollah Khomeini in The 1979 Iranian revolution.
Roxanna also discovers a faction in the Republican Party paid Ayatollah’s people to get and keep the American hostages in Iran for years to help Reagan become president, which resulted in the Iran-Contra conviction.
During the struggle to search for her father she realizes her father was one of the main advisors to Ayatollah Khomeini but later he becomes anti-Khomeini, survive an assassination by Khomeini’s men and went into hiding, So, her life was more and more in danger.. Along the way she finds her true love, CYRUS, a writer, filmmaker, and grassroots revolutionary. But soon Roxana realizes their love is forbidden and intricately tied into the revolution begins to fight for the people and country they were all fighting for.
Cyrus would eventually reunite her with her father at his hiding place but not without a tragic price. She unknowingly leads Saeed, Cyrus’ best friend from high school, and new leader of the SAVANA, directly to her father. And trajedy strikes…?

It is a romantic story of adventure and tragedy in the tradition of “Doctor Zhivago” with the essence of Gandhi. It’s based on the story of ROXANA, an American/Iranian woman who’s manipulated by her boyfriend, HUSSEIN, to travel to Iran and unknowingly became a part of an underground anti-SHAH movement. She was used without her knowledge, to place a bomb, killing many, including a little child. This placed her life in much danger by the Savak Iranian secret police, as she simultaneously searched for her father ASSAD. She unfortunately becomes swept up by the turmoil of the 1979 Iranian revolution and became part of it.

I like this book both the style of writing and story. The story was stayed with the main character and supporting characters which made the readers stayed focus and followed the story well. When the supporting characters came back to the story, the author reminded the reader where this person was known from, which was very good for the readers to follow the story. I like to read this story very much. It’s an action story from one scene to another. Some were suspense which made me wondered what was going to happen next. The emotion of the story was up and down with different part, which made me wanted to read more. The writing was very detail which made me visualized the scene and the action of the characters. Over all it was great!!
